by Ted Ganung
For this week I bring one of my all time favorite songs "Entre dos aguas" by one of my favorite guitar players, Paco de Lucia. An absolute timeless piece of music that DJ's have been playing for years. Truly a versatile song that could be played for dinner, potentially cocktail music, and if the vibe is right even dancing. My favorite part about this video besides the 70's style outfits and hair, is the perfection and precision executed by the musicians while still remaining so free and relaxed.

Studio 548
We loved performing at the hip and groovie, Studio 548. Jung Lee & her team at FĂȘte completely transformed this space from stark to stellar. Hugs to her once again for bringing us on board for another amazing opportunity to stretch our creative wings.
This bride and groom were very romantic but urban, so their choices were very personalized. The bride entered to our version of "Kissing You" from Romeo & Juliet. You can hear our recording from the processional below with the amazingly talented Noreda Street.
Grandparents ~ "Here comes the Sun" by the Beatles, arrangement of the Yo Yo Ma & James Taylor version
Groom & Groomsmen ~ "Better Together" by Jack Johnson
Bridesmaids ~ "Over the Rainbow" the Eva Cassidy version
Bride ~ "Kissing You" by Desiree
Recessional ~ "Sweetest Thing" by U2

Woodstock, New York
This was a triple hit pleasure. We got to perform at the Legendary Maverick Concert Hall in Woodstock New York, it was a same sex wedding, and the client was my friend Eric Redd. He is a mega talent and has just released his new CD "Don't Care" now available on itunes. https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/dont-care-single/id569036652 It's extra meaningful when friends and contacts in the industry request our services for their own weddings.
As always, it was important that Eric put his own spin on the ceremony and we were ready to hop on board. We accompanied the incredible Gisele Jackson on The Capenters "We've only Just Begun" as well as a foot-stomping, hand clapping version of the Richie Havens version of "Here comes the Sun". Both were backed by a "raise the roof" Gospel Choir. Eric & Will entered to a slow, sexy, jazz version of "Here comes the bride". Their big cuddly dog "Bear" was the man of honor.
We heart Eric & Will.

Beautiful wedding overlooking the Hudson River at the Wave Hill Gardens. Truly a magical place.

Old St. Patrick's Cathedral
Beautiful churches this past month. We would like to thank the Music Director of Old St. Patrick's Cathedral, Jared Lamento for granting us permission to perform in this landmark Catholic Cathedral. We love putting a new spin on standard repertoire, so we collaborated with pop/rock artist Neil Davis to perform Ave Maria for the bride. The harp also adds that element of magic.
Hugs go to Jung Lee & Josh Brooks of FĂȘte for bringing us on board. www.feteny.com

Performance at The Museum of Modern Art
The Museum of Modern Art has to be one of our favorite museums ever, so we were excited to be invited to perform there. We played three different sets for an audience of over a few hundred people. For the first two sets we played some of our favorite high energy pieces that were supported with live beats played by our own, DJ Ted Ganung. http://deepervisionrecordings.com/home.cfm The beats were simple yet highly accessible grooves that we composed. During the break between sets Ted took us on journey from experimental House & Techno to the soulful sounds of Liquid Drum & Bass.
The atmosphere was super sophisticated but serene and the guests were served an array of artistically presented foor and drinks from Pinch Food Design. http://pinchfooddesign.com
For the Third Set we played with just The Strings & Grand Piano and the repertoire was a combination of contemporary & filmscore. Highlights of the night included our latest arrangement for the Sex & The City Theme, We Found Love, and Moondance by Van Morrison.

Turntable Tuesday
by Ted Ganung
For this week I bring a special track that was a original tune of mine re-mixed by Dusselfdorf based producer Gareth Bilaney. Gareth brings his signature deep house sound, lush chords, bouncy basslines, and a smooth hypnotic melody that perfectly compliments the beat. A good balance between oldschool sensibilities and feel balanced with modern production techniques. Already receiving support from NYC Deep House DJ's like Oscar P & Mike Dominico, the remix is due for release Winter 2013.
